PurnamaPurnama Budi Santosa is an academic staff and researcher at the Department of Geodetic and Geomatic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Purnama was born in an old town of KOTAGEDE, where the MATARAM Kingdom was originated, in the city of Yogyakarta. He spent most of his life time in KOTAGEDE, since he was born until January 2000, the time when he married his beloved wife. Since then he moved to a new house (the memorable little house) with his family in Sidoarum village, Godean Town, the western suburb of Yogyakarta city. Currently he lives there with his wife (Iim), one son (Rafif Santosa) and one daughter (Meliasasti Santosa).

Purnama education was started in 1979 in SD (primary school) Muhammadyah Kleco II. In 1985 he started secondary school at SMP Negeri 9 Yogyakarta, and then SMA Negeri 5 Yogyakarta in 1988. All these schools are located in KOTAGEDE, the town where he is proud of. In 1991 he decided to study surveying in the Department of Geodetic Engineering, Gadjah Mada University, and graduated a bachelor of engineering degree (ST) in early 1997.

During the university study period, he was appointed as a teaching assistant in field of surveying, mapping and photogrammetry in that department from 1995 until he completed the study in early 1997. Since then, he worked in a private company, Kertagana Ltd, as a Technical Project Coordinator for the National Land Administration Project Batch 2 in Yogyakarta. Until then, he came to academia in 1998 as an academic staff until now.

In 2005, he completed his master study and got Master of Applied Science (MAppSc) degree from the Department of Geomatics, Faculty of Engineering, Melbourne University, Australia. Currently he is a doctorate student at Graduate School of Engineering, Kyushu University, Japan.
